We believe that dance, movement, play and the arts can play a leading role in supporting children and their supporting adults in their wellbeing, providing expressive languages to share children’s ideas, thoughts, emotions whilst creating a more sustainable world.
The values of being kind to ourselves, each other and the planet underpins our approach of delivery as well as how we run our business. We are using Ecologi to support our business being sustainable and to create a ‘Make Your Mark Forest’
Our work is designed through listening to the needs of participating children and the teachers, parents, carers and other organisations who are also supporting them.
We aim to protect childhood, seeing play and creativity as a right and an essential way of understanding the world and self.
Creativity, ownership and adaptability enables children to find their unique expressive language and learn skills that enable them to develop their own wellbeing. We believe in collaborating and creating an inclusive nurturing world where curiosity, discovery, research and reflection can fuel learning.
Our team of artists create creative dance, arts and play experiences, offering this to children through providing workshops, workshop series, resources and delivery to our communities of parents, carers, nursery workers, teachers and artists.
We enable children to share their ideas, learning and creativity with others and in doing so,
"We are thrilled to work with such a brilliant practitioner. Jo is totally in tune with our children’s needs and plans a wide variety of fun and interactive activities to move their skills on. We have seen the benefits from her weekly sessions and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough."

Find out moreWe are creating projects, engaging conversation and action towards developing a more sustainable world. Starting with human connection we want to support well being of children and their communities. Supporting parents, carers, teachers and the artists working with children to create a world for our children which is inclusive, safe and creative. We want to protect and promote joy, creativity and a kinder world. We look to provide opportunity in and out of tradition education settings, provide inclusive and accessible work, and share big and small actions you can take to support this.
Doodle Dance supports artists to come together. Jo Cone, founder of Doodle Dance, recognises the breadth of work that an independent artist has to do to maintain and nurture a career in the arts, recognising that all artists can support others in this process. A national network, artist support sessions, training and resources is Doodles ongoing commitment to the industry, enabling more artists to also support children to 'Make their Mark!'
Find out moreThe last few weeks I have been inviting children to explore and find wonderful ways of moving to a series of words and ideas they have shared on a topic. The ‘One minute wonders’ have explored the vastness of space and the varied weathers of our land. Allowing water to pour, rockets to zoom and butterflies to catch raindrops on their wings. But wonderful moments have been happening in all areas of Doodle. A big wonder has been developing the artistry of Catherine our new Doodle Dancer and one of the wonders that has come from this is her ability to capture and share through writing not one minute of wonder but a whole lesson, and truly look and see Doodle Dance. For me as a often solo artist this has been insightful and a joy, but has also given me further focus to protect childhood, recognising the need for joy, play, creativity and rest for the children of our world.
Over the next few weeks I will share Catherine’s insights with the hope this will spur those reading to find wonderful moments, and ways that we can keep creating opportunities for our children to share in this
