Welcome to Doodle Dance…

As artists and parents we want to support children in a changing world. Our work is designed through listening to the needs of our participants and the adults that make up their world. The values of being kind to ourselves, each other and the planet underpins our approach.

Our team of artists create creative dance, arts and play opportunities and offer this to children through providing resources and delivery to our communities of parents, carers, nursery workers, teachers and artists.

Our creative and adaptable approach gives children the opportunity to find their unique expressive voice and learn skills that enable them to develop their own wellbeing.

Our work supports children to explore movement, mark making, storytelling, drawing, voice and more. We enable children to share their ideas,  learning and creativity with others and in doing so,

They can… ‘Make Their Mark!’

Primary Schools

Primary Schools

Doodle Dance believes in creativity being at the heart of the curriculum. We want to support children to learn through their imagination, to get moving and have opportunity to express their own ideas, through the power of narrative and the arts! We also believe in supporting the trusted adults who support children in their world… TEACHERS, PARENTS and CARERS! To do this, Doodle Dance provides workshops, projects and resources that enable children to make their mark throughout their primary education…

Nurseries

Nurseries

Doodle Dance believes in the power of a child’s imagination, the importance of using our body, the natural curiosity of props, objects and senses, and the power of narrative to support a child’s learning. We work closely with the Early Years curriculum and child development, as well as research in childhood well-being. Our current provision is to support nursery staff and parents to provide for the children, whilst our face to face delivery is on hold.

Artist Development

Artist Development

Doodle Dance has allowed artists to come together. Jo Cone, founder of Doodle Dance, recognises the breadth of work that an independent artist has to do to maintain and nurture a career in the arts. Therefore she wanted each piece of work to not only benefit the participants but have the potential to support other artists and in turn reach more children.

"We are thrilled to work with such a brilliant practitioner. Jo is totally in tune with our children’s needs and plans a wide variety of fun and interactive activities to move their skills on. We have seen the benefits from her weekly sessions and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough."
