Associate Artist (Derbyshire)
Her work within communities across Cheshire, Hampshire and now Derbyshire has included parent and toddler groups, older adults, adults in recovery from alcohol and drug misuse and adults and young people with both physical and learning disabilities.
Sally is now a mum to two young girls and has subsequently shifted her focus towards creative dance sessions with younger audiences (and their grown ups) and likes to use popular children’s books as inspiration in her sessions.
Sally has been a Doodle Dance Associate Artist since 2017 delivering an evolving programme to meet the needs of schools and their Reception children. She believes that creative dance is a wonderful and engaging way for children to develop their fine and gross motor skills which can contribute towards a child’s development ready for mark making.
Sally loves to provide opportunity for play and movement in her sessions and watch little imaginations at work.
In addition to her work as a dance artist, Sally is also an Arts Project Coordinator and in 2019 published her first children’s picture book, ‘Cuthbert the Crab and his Shoelace Shenanigans’.
Sally enjoys family walks in the countryside and finding the occasional five minutes to immerse herself in a good book!
