Faye Davis

Faye Davis

Associate Artist (Dorset)

Faye is a qualified Teacher, passionate about the use of dance as a tool to support well-being and thoroughly enjoys watching each individual child develop, discover, create and learn through play. Faye graduated from Winchester University with a BA hons in Drama Studies with Performing Arts. During and after this training, she devised, choreographed, taught children and performed with local companies, such as Playing For Time Prison Theatre, Theatre Royal Winchester, Poole Lighthouse, Bournemouth Theatre in Education and Double Act Disability Theatre.

Following this, she went on to complete her QTS Teacher Training and an MA in Education, as a dance, drama and music Teacher starting in Secondary Schools and then heading up the department for a local Primary School, leading the changes as the new National Curriculum came in.

As one of our Doodle Dance Associate Artists, Faye brings a creative mix of movement, dance, drama and child attachment focus. Her own practice explores themes of compassion and nurture, exploring journeys within her own life as a mother. She is passionate about the use of dance as a tool to support well-being, movement psychotherapy, tackling tough topics, the importance of learning through play and play therapy.

Over the last few years, she has adapted her work to fit around her most important role of being a mother. Faye now works part-time offering freelance dance workshops, projects and community classes for local families, primary schools and churches.

Faye spends half her week working as a Storyteller and Operations Assistant for an intergenerational charity and the other half as a Doodle Dance Associate for Schools and Nurseries, alongside performing as a Dancer and choreographing with So Sacred Dance Collective.
